GTUC win the confidence of International Universities




It started as a training institution for personnel’s of the then Ghana Telecom Corporation where intermediate courses were offered to most of the technicians and engineers at Ghana Telecom to upgrade their skills. After series of thoughtful deliberation with major stakeholders in the field of education and communications in the country , the Ghana Telecom College was transformed into a higher learning institution in November 2005 and its now known as the Ghana Technology University College (GTUC). Granted accreditation by the country’s accreditation Board in March, 2006, Ghana University College has become the toast of many aspiring young engineers who would like to venture into the field of technology and communication not only from Ghana but across the world. With the currently the student population of GTUC stand at 3500 with 2000 undergraduates and 1500 post graduate the institution has shun out world class graduates who are making impacts especially in the telecommunication industry in Ghana and other African countries. GTUC is affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, Aalborg University, Denmark and Coventry University, UK.
The University College according to officials of the school is working to carve an outstanding reputation as leader in teaching excellence and a world class center of research and intellectual creativity. Because of its ingenuity and innovativeness, GTUC has gain the admiration of other internationally acclaimed higher institutions of learning hence collaborating or partnering GTUC in their bid to exchange programs, share ideas and cooperate in other academic fields.
Guilin University of Technology (GUT) from the Republic People of China is one of such institution to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ghana Telecom University College (GTUC) in Accra.
Signing the MoU,the President of GTUC, Dr. Osei K.Darkwa noted that GTUC continues to attract partners of international repute such as GUT because of GTUC’s continues drive to deliver high quality technology education not only to students of Ghana but within the sub-region.  He believes that the pact signed with GUT, like others will have great impact on both institutions as they prepare for the introduction of new cutting-edge courses.
The MoU will also promote cooperation in the following areas:
·         Exchange of academic programs, publications and information
·         Joint research projects and organizing symposia and conferences
·         Exchange of faculty members and research fellows
·         Exchange of students
Both institutions will also conduct activities that will contribute to the development of academia, staff, and students.
Guilin University of Technology (GUT) is located in Guilin, which is recognized as on of the most famous scenic cities in the world. Since its founding in 1956, the University has maintained its commitment to promoting and maintaining excellence in teaching and research, having nurtured large numbers of outstanding talents and made significant contributions to the thriving and prosperity of China, especially to the development of the local economy.
